In the 1950's, Mr. Harold Wagner set out to build a twin engine Piper Cub. He first experimented with putting a second engine on top of the wing. After this did not meet with success, he mated two Piper cubs with a center wing section and a center tail plane section.
Only the right hand fuselage could be accessed by the pilot and passenger. The left hand fuselage only served as an engine mount. To prevent the propellers from hitting each other, the left propeller was mounted using a spacer so that it was in front of the right propeller. Mr. Wagner claimed that his "Thing" had great flight characteristics.
Although he intended to release the Twin Cub for production, only the one prototype was built.
